In a world that blurs the lines between reality and imagination, a young girl named Coraline steps into a new adventure immediately after moving into her family’s new flat. Curiosity drives her to explore her surroundings, leading her to discover a secret door that opens into a parallel universe, one that seems eerily similar to her own yet is intricately enchanting. This alternate world is populated by other versions of her parents, seemingly more caring and attentive than the originals.
However, as Coraline delves deeper into this strange realm, she realizes that not everything is as it appears. The enticing comforts of the other world begin to mask a sinister truth. In a place where everything sparkles with illusion, Coraline must confront challenges and face the darker side of her desires. Her courage is put to the test as she strives to free herself and her loved ones from the clutches of this haunting experience.
Throughout her journey, themes of bravery, identity, and the desire for connection unfold. The vivid illustrations bring Coraline’s story to life, amplifying the tension and mystery of her quest. Faced with clever, uncanny beings that mirror her reality, Coraline learns the importance of embracing her true self and the love that exists in her own world.
This enthralling tale resonates with readers of all ages, weaving a rich tapestry of fantasy and adventure that uplifts yet also warns against the allure of escapism. Coraline's remarkable journey fuses a whimsical narrative with a gripping sense of danger, inviting readers to ponder the boundaries between dreams and reality.

A fascinating story. I have seen the movie and now that I've read the book I understand the movie better, even though the book is so much better than the movie.
