Description
Seventeen-year-old Alice has grown up in a world filled with uncertainty, constantly moving from one place to another with her enigmatic mother. Their lives have been shaped by a foreboding family legacy they cannot escape, linked to a mysterious, reclusive author whose tales are whispered about but rarely understood. This shadowy figure has left behind a collection of stories that allure and terrify, influencing everything from Alice’s identity to the dangers that lurk in the corners of her reality.
Alice's mother, struggling with her own demons, often reflects the darker aspects of their shared existence, leading Alice to question the narratives she has inherited. As they finally seek refuge in a quiet, seemingly normal life, the pull of the haunting stories grows stronger. When her mother is suddenly taken, Alice is thrust into a fantastical realm that intersects with the plots of the very stories that have haunted her childhood.
Determined to find her mother, Alice embarks on a perilous journey filled with treachery, dark secrets, and the allure of a world that blurs the line between fiction and reality. Along the way, she encounters a host of peculiar characters, each challenging her perception of bravery, loyalty, and family.
As Alice delves deeper into the heart of the Hazel Wood, she must confront both the magical and terrifying forces that await her. With every step, she uncovers shocking truths about her mother, the tales that shaped her life, and her own capacity for resilience. Ultimately, Alice’s quest becomes more than just a search; it evolves into a journey of self-discovery that challenges the very essence of her being.
