Description

In a gripping tale that blurs the lines between reality and the supernatural, a young woman named Willa Stannard finds herself trapped in a chilling cycle of death. Haunted by her past and surrounded by a web of secrets, Willa must confront the dark forces that threaten to claim her. As the narrative unfolds, the tension escalates, pulling readers into a world where each death reveals deeper mysteries and where survival hinges on unraveling the truth behind her seemingly inevitable fate.

Kate Robards masterfully weaves psychological suspense with a touch of the eerie, immersing the reader in Willa's harrowing journey. The story is punctuated by unexpected twists that keep anticipation alive, as Willa grapples with her own identity and the ghosts of those who have come before her. With pulse-pounding action and emotional depth, this thriller captivates, leaving readers questioning not just the reality around Willa, but also the very nature of existence itself.

2.5/3 starsThis was an interesting book for me. While it was quite the slow burn, I found myself intrigued from the get-go and engaged in the mystery. However, this just might be my interpretation, but the way different things were described sometimes felt icky to me. Mental illness/mental health issues, and eating disorders among other things were mentioned, and I mostly appreciated the discussions, but I also felt like they weren't represented as well as they could be. The eating disorder especially, was mentioned throughout the book, but there was never really any meat to it, making it not that relevant to the plot or character development. I also found all of the characters to be unlikable and the repetition of the spin class girls tiring. However, the plot and writing were good enough for me to overlook those things and finish the book.
