But it was also a character assassination of some of my favorite classic horror characters. I love Dracula. I own nine different copies of it; it's my favorite book of all time. Reading this book, I realized that this was not a labor of love. The original characters in Dracula are some of the most devoted characters I have ever read. Everything they do is out of love for each other. In Lucy Undying, everyone from Dracula becomes smaller, pettier, and meaner. I am glad that I read this book, but at the end of the day, I am mad at how my favorite characters were written, because it feels like Kiersten White missed the original point of Dracula.
