Barbara Washburn
Sull'autore
Barbara Washburn was a pioneering American mountaineer and author, best known for becoming the first woman to successfully climb Mount McKinley, now known as Denali, in 1970. Her accomplishments in the male-dominated field of mountaineering helped to inspire a generation of women adventurers. Born in 1924, she developed a passion for the outdoors at a young age, which eventually led her to tackle some of the most challenging peaks in North America. Her memoir, "The Accidental Adventurer," chronicles her journey as both a climber and a woman navigating the often unwelcoming terrain of competitive mountaineering.
