Pundita Ramabai Sarasvati was a prominent Indian social reformer, feminist, and educator in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born into a family of Brahmin scholars, she broke through societal norms to advocate for women's rights and education. Her efforts were particularly focused on the upliftment of women in India, who were often marginalized and denied educational opportunities. Ramabai's work included founding the Mukti Sadan, a refuge for widows, and she wrote extensively on the importance of women's education and empowerment.
