著者について
Joseph Smith was the founder of the Latter Day Saint movement, which is now commonly known as Mormonism. Born in 1805, he claimed to have experienced a series of visions and divine revelations that led him to translate the Book of Mormon, which he published in 1830. This book, along with other writings and revelations, became the foundational texts of the Latter Day Saint faith. His leadership and teachings attracted a significant following, and he established the church in New York before moving his followers to Ohio and then to Nauvoo, Illinois, where he served as mayor and military leader.
Smith's life was marked by controversy and opposition, leading to violence against him and his followers. He was arrested multiple times and faced various charges, including treason. His life came to a tragic end when he was killed by a mob in 1844 while imprisoned in Carthage, Illinois. Despite his untimely death, Smith's legacy endures through the millions of adherents who follow his teachings and the growth of the Latter Day Saint movement worldwide.
