José M. Hernández is a renowned American astronaut and engineer, celebrated for his remarkable journey from humble beginnings to the stars. Born in a migrant farming family, he faced numerous challenges throughout his early life, including economic hardships and a lack of access to education. Despite these obstacles, Hernández's determination and passion for science propelled him forward. He earned a degree in electrical engineering and eventually joined NASA, where he became a mission specialist on the STS-128 and STS-134 space shuttle missions.
