Edward Bunker was an American author, screenwriter, and actor, known for his gritty and realistic depictions of prison life and the criminal underworld. Born in Los Angeles, he had a tumultuous childhood that led him into a life of crime. Bunker spent much of his early years in and out of juvenile detention and adult prisons, experiences that would later inform his writing. His most notable works include 'Education of a Felon: A Memoir' and 'Animal Factory,' both of which draw heavily from his own life experiences.
