Christine de Pizan was a medieval writer and poet, widely regarded as one of the first professional female authors in Europe. Born around 1364 in Venice, she moved to France after her father's death and began her literary career. Christine became renowned for her works that addressed the roles and rights of women, as well as for her critiques of societal norms. Among her most famous writings is "The Book of the City of Ladies," where she constructs an allegorical city to defend women's dignity and contributions to society.
