Menachem Begin

Menachem Begin was a prominent Israeli politician and the sixth Prime Minister of Israel, serving from 1977 to 1983. He was born in Brest, Belarus, and became a key figure in the Zionist movement, particularly known for his leadership of the Irgun, a Jewish paramilitary organization that operated during the British mandate in Palestine. His experiences during World War II and the Holocaust deeply influenced his political views and commitment to the establishment of a Jewish state.

As Prime Minister, Begin is best remembered for his role in signing the Camp David Accords in 1978, which led to the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty, a landmark event in Middle Eastern politics.
