Flora Macdonald was a significant figure in Scottish history, best known for her role in the Jacobite uprisings. Born in South Uist in 1722, she became famous for her daring efforts to help Charles Edward Stuart, also known as Bonnie Prince Charlie, evade capture after the defeat at the Battle of Culloden in 1746. Macdonald's courageous actions included disguising him as her maid and successfully navigating him to safety, which made her a symbol of loyalty and bravery in the Jacobite cause.
