One choice would make his life a lot easier and one would make it very hard. Adam tells his story through a letter he is writing to his adolescent daughter. He perceives that many have wronged him during his life and he is consumed by the thoughts of and the urges to get revenge. He has thought about how good it would feel to make others pay for whatever they had done. He has enjoyed all the preparations he has made to carry out his plan. Now Adam, as must we all, will decide if he is to continue staring into the abyss or find the courage to walk away from his vengeful desires and try to do something good.
