WHAT.
THE.
HELL.
This volume emotionally destroyed me.
The battle at Shiganshina is easily one of the best parts of the series so far. The choices everyone has to make are genuinely horrible because there isn't a good option.
And that decision involving the Titan serum???
I HATED IT.
I understood it.
But I HATED IT.
Levi's situation especially broke me because you can tell how much he wants to save the person he believes deserves it.
And then we finally get to the basement.
AFTER ALL THIS TIME.
And the reveal completely changes the entire story.
Everything we thought we knew about the world was basically WRONG.
This is the volume where Attack on Titan stops being the story I thought I was reading.
