Autumn's Altar

Autumn’s Altar is a novel of atmosphere and of violence. It tells of a voice: stark, monstrous, disembodied and supernatural, a voice that is heard high upon the wind, and deep within the chasms of nightmare; a voice that hungers and demands and goads those who hear it to murder. Dean Pickford hears the voice, and it draws him to a clearing in the woods where he delivers an offering of brutal depravity. Sam Grayson had heard the voice once many years ago but had resisted its demands. He and Julia – the woman he once tried to kill – are now drawn inexorably toward the horror of the Autumn’s Altar and to a weirdly ambiguous and shocking resolution.
