reread on November 18th, 2022; new rating — 5 stars..This was one of my anticipated 2017 releases when I saw it in the stores. Whenever I made a bookstore run, I would constantly pick this one up, and then set it back down when I didn't have enough to buy it, however, when I finally purchased the novel, I started it immediately after I got home that very night. The Last Magician was a wild ride, yet slow burning at the same time. It did take time for the plot to pick up, but I was so engrossed in the story that it didn't bother me a bit.If you like books with magic, you should give this one a try.
