I have been wanting to read this book/series for a while but something was putting me off.So I just picked it up and read it without thinking about it.I have not read any books about firefighter or in this case wild fire fighters. That was intriguing.The start of this book was quite sad with what the crew were going through. Then to have Cal discover what he did at the wake of his friend and colleague was disgusting.Then we get a time jump and that is when we meet Prescott. She starts off as being a character that I am suspicious of just by the way she acts and things she does but I find her personality interesting.Now it is very common knowledge that I loathe miscommunication in books. Especially when it is really dragged out. Now there is miscommunication in this but I understand Cal's reaction and why he did what he did. What I will say is that it wasn't dragged out and was resolved pretty quickly which I really appreciated.There was nearly a hiccup in the plot at the end but I loved how Cal came up with a solution that would help everyone. That was a different way to go I wasn't expecting. Overall I really enjoyed this book and will definitely read the rest of the series.
