I stopped after her graduation.. don't remember the chapters. Maybe I will update later. Smut in the male pov... equal to a big repetitive disappointment. Maybe is because this is meant to be stuck in 2011 but the email format is getting the the front of my head a hard time.
I enjoyed this book more than the Ana counterpart as I find I prefer the male POV. (review of the story) As a whole but I have some issues. Mainly the utter lack of communication. I don't like Anas judgment on the way Christian has lived his life. BDSM is a perfectly normal thing between consenting adults. I also don't think Christian understands that other people don't live the way he does so should be more accepting of Anas resistance but my major issue is the fact Ana asks for how hard punishment can be and does NOT safe word. Despite knowing that is something you do when it becomes too much and the whole thing where she said she wanted to see if she could take it. People in the BDSM world build up a tolerance and the fact that she did that and then blamed him shows that both of them had complete lack of communication.
I didn't think I could love the story more than Fifty Shades of Grey, but Grey completely proved me wrong.Experiencing the story through Christian's eyes changes everything. What once seemed like control, distance, and mystery is revealed to be fear, vulnerability, obsession, and an overwhelming need to protect the woman he loves. Suddenly, every interaction, every decision, and every emotional reaction carries so much more weight.Christian's inner monologue was the highlight of the book for me. Beneath the confident billionaire façade is a man constantly battling his past, his insecurities, and feelings he doesn't fully understand. Seeing his thoughts during key moments with Ana made scenes I already knew feel fresh and emotionally charged.
