Loved the story, but found the swap between timelines very disjointed. I found myself wondering if I had missed something when new characters were introduced like that had always existed.
The story itself is of first love, making mistakes and having the opportunity to make amends. The story is beautiful and raw, it makes you reminisce on your own past and leaves you wondering if you have anythings left unsaid.

And it preserves it, like a time capsule.'I kept seeing Heart the Lover all over book tok and popular reading lists and book apps, I thought sure, why not, after reading the summary. I am so glad I did. It has been a while since a book has consumed my attention that it was hard to put down, and when I did I found myself impatiently waiting for the moment I would pick it up again. Jordan, Yash, and Sam will live in my soul the way Connell and Marianne from Normal People do. They will be thought about the way I still think of Jude St. Frances from A Little Life. Heart the Lover will make me feel and think of the nostalgia and pain, the way from Talking at Night by Claire Daverley still does. What im trying to say, Heart the Lover will be a book that I carry in my soul for a long time and will recommend to anyone who is looking for a novel with deeply rich characters and a story that is full of the things that life is. Love. Nostalgia. Pain. Grief. Healing. Forgiveness. Sometimes the hype around a book is real and this is one of those books.
