الوصف
Two people are abducted, imprisoned, and left with a gun. As hunger and thirst set in, only one walks away alive.
It’s a game more twisted than any Detective Helen Grace has ever seen. If she hadn’t spoken with the shattered survivors herself, she almost wouldn’t believe them.
Helen is familiar with the dark sides of human nature, including her own, but this case—with its seemingly random victims—has her baffled. But as more people go missing, nothing will be more terrifying than when it all starts making sense....

I enjoyed the investigation side of the story but the twist didn't land for me. I wasn't convinced by the killer's motivation, and the ending wrapped everything up too quickly.I'll probably give the next book a go and see if the series grows on me though.

Very interesting original premise, I don't think I've seen this in movies or other books. I liked the fast pace of the story. It got a bit confusing because it took me a bit to understand whose POV I was reading from at the beginning of each chapter (and there are a lot of POVs). Can't say I'm defective Grace's biggest fan, but I don't think I'm supposed to be. Easy to read, fast paced, wrapped up a bit too quickly.
