Depois de perder o emprego e o noivo de uma vez só, Natalie Vos retorna para a casa da família em busca de um porto seguro. Ela então passa algumas semanas afogando as mágoas com garrafas e mais garrafas de vinho até estar pronta para se reerguer e com planos de dar início à sua nova empresa de investimentos. August Cates pode até ter uma vinícola para chamar de sua, mas não entende absolutamente nada do assunto. Ele, contudo, está determinado a realizar o sonho de seu falecido amigo — administrar um vinhedo de sucesso —, custe o que custar. O problema é que, segundo Natalie — a mulher que assombra os seus sonhos desde o momento em que se conheceram —, seu vinho tem gosto de “rato molhado” e o negócio está indo por água abaixo. Para piorar, o dinheiro está acabando e nenhum banco se arrisca a conceder um empréstimo a um homem como ele, sem muita credibilidade na praça.
É nesse momento que a herdeira temperamental e deslumbrante bate à sua porta com uma proposta maluca: um pedido de casamento. Natalie está tão desesperada para recomeçar a vida que se sente disposta a fazer qualquer coisa ― até “pedir a mão” de um homem que ela não suporta. É a sua única opção, mesmo que ela queira matá-lo (e beijá-lo em igual medida).
A química ardente que ambos tinham no passado deu lugar a um ressentimento congelante, mas um casamento rápido pode ajudar a dupla: uma festa de mentirinha, algumas semanas vivendo sob o mesmo teto, e os dois estarão livres para seguir os seus caminhos — isso se eles sobreviverem um ao outro.

Eu gostei muito do livro.
Normalmente termino rápido um livro, porém nesse eu lia um pouco a cada dia. Porém, não significa que tava ruim ou que a leitura não tava me prendendo. Na verdade eu tava gostando bastante e tava achando a leitura fluida.
Eu gostei da dinâmica do casal, eles ficam implicando um com o outro e isso cria cenas divertidas.
No início eles ficam achando que não gostam um do outro, mas quando mostra os pensamentos do August é perceptível que ele tá louco pela Natalie.
Eu adoro que nos livros da Tessa Bailey sempre tem um protagonista masculino bem rendido pela garota e super intenso sobre os pensamentos que ele diz sentir.
Além disso, o August tem uma personalidade descontraída meio Golden Retriever mas que sabe ser sério quando precisa.
E esse livro teve um epílogo com um grande pulo temporal, foi super fofo e lindo. Terminou a duologia com chave de ouro
⭐️3.5A 3.5 that leans towards a 4. Similarly to 'When in Rome' by Sarah Adams, this book had the potential to be a solid 4 for me, especially with how great I found the first half to be. However, I found some parts of the book to be disappointing, particularly in the second half, but I will say this book is WAY better than 'Secretly Yours'.Like I said, the first half of this book is great and 4 stars-worthy. In contrast to 'Secretly Yours', the plot is well-developed and makes sense, the characters are also likeable and add to the story, and the marriage-of-convenience trope, one of my favourite tropes, is well handled. August and Natalie's banter and undeniable chemistry is unreal, and both are great main characters in this book.The things that didn’t work for me were mostly in the second half of the book, including the spice. As the book progressed, the dirty talk and dialogue became more cringeworthy. It reached a point where I just kept rolling my eyes at every line/dialogue coming out of August's month at the last spicy scene. The spice just didn't completely work for me like it did in Tessa Bailey's other works (e.g., 'It Happened One Summer' and 'Window Shopping'), despite being MILES superior to any of the spicy scenes in 'Secretly Yours'. Secondly, I thought the book could have explored August's grief and possibly his family and childhood in greater depth, since we barely know anything about August's childhood and family dynamic, despite them being mentioned briefly. Finally, the last 25% of the book felt a tad rushed and dramatic, mainly because of the conflict in the third act. However, what third act conflict isn't?As a whole, 'Unfortunately Yours' makes up for the things lacking in the first book in the series. As someone who believes Tessa Bailey is not the best at writing sequels, for example, the Bellinger Sisters series, where 'Hook, Line and Sinker' pales in comparison to 'It Happened One Summer', I think this book surprised me by how much better it was in comparison to ‘Secretly Yours’, though I'm afraid Tessa Bailey will never be able to top ‘It Happened One Summer’.
