L.E. Modesitt Jr is a new author to me. I enjoyed Isolate, want to read more by this author.I found the worldbuilding excellent, characters complex and likeable, the mild magical elements interesting BUT the pace is slow, too much unnecessary details mostly regarding food. Especially the endless repetitive narration of Dekkers breakfast of croissants and some type of jelly ... I thought I'd poke out my 👁. 3.5 🌟
