الوصف

I enjoyed this book a bit more than I expected. The actual parts to do with time travel, and the struggles of it, as well as it potentially being genetic was super interesting. But the romance part of it just really icked me out. I get that the story already happened and he's just bouncing around it. But we spent so much of the story with Claire being an actual child and a grown man. I think we could have minimized that a bit or pushed it to later in the story after they'd met. But having that be such a huge chunk right at the beginning made it feel so much like grooming that I had a hard time with their whole relationship.I did go and eatch the movie after this and I have to say it's actually better. They glossed over a lot of the more problematic parts of the story, including how much they saw each other as children. And Claire felt a lot more independent.

I had seen this book all over Instagram, and the way people spoke about it—I just knew I had to get my hands on it. It took me over a year, but I finally finished it. And now that I have, I’m left with a whirlwind of emotions I didn’t expect. At its core, this is a story about a man who can time travel. At first, it feels magical—tempting, even. Who hasn’t wished they could go back, relive a moment, fix something, or hold on just a little longer? I’ve wished for that too. But maybe there’s a reason time travel is still only a theory—maybe we’re not meant to have that kind of power. The protagonist’s journey begins at a museum, where he meets someone claiming to be his future self. From that moment, the story unfolds in fragments—two versions of him sometimes existing in the same room, crossing paths, crossing timelines. It’s confusing, it’s fascinating, it’s unlike anything I’ve read before. But what hit me the hardest wasn’t just the science or the thrill—it was the love story at the center of it all. The woman he keeps returning to—she waits for him her entire life. He visits her when she’s still young, and they share moments that, to him, are fleeting, but to her, mean everything. On her 18th birthday, she lets him go, only to meet him again in the future—a future where he doesn’t yet know her. That broke me a little. She carries so much pain, quietly. Always waiting. Always holding back. Everyone warned her before the marriage, but she still chose love, knowing what it would cost her. They had a daughter together, but he couldn’t stay long enough to watch her grow. And the daughter—she, too, could time travel. They meet briefly in the future, just long enough to remind us how fragile time really is.The ending crushed me. He wanted to live. He truly did. But time wasn’t on his side. And once again, it was her who had to bear the weight of loss. Again, she waited. Again, she suffered. This book was chaos—but the kind that slowly makes sense as you move forward. It pulled me in and didn’t let go. It’s messy, tragic, beautiful—and it stays with you long after the last page.
