I like Penny. She's adorable. She kind of reminds me of Aurelia.I do love it when an author does a connecting series like this and each protagonist is unique and not a copy and paste of the first main character. Even one of my favorite authors kind of fails at that.I like Emery too and I'm waiting for the moment he realizes he's supposed to be with Penny.And now I know how Darius helped Penny. And why she keeps blushing around him. Poor girl saw him in the buff. But he really was helpful, even if it was for his own means.So far, I'm loving Penny's story. Emery is hilarious and I love his voice. I'm looking forward to the next book and the moment Penny and Emery finally officially become dual-mages, because that is obviously where this is heading.
