Everything about this book; plot, characters, spice was just so…. Meh. I got bored halfway through the book and finished it hoping that it got better. Spoiler - it did not.
I loved this book. The whole vibe and relationship between Hades and Persephone is great. I love how Katee Robert brought their story into the modern era. I am very excited to read Electric Idol, especially after reading the teaser at the end of this book.
If you want a good and compelling Hades and Persephone retelling, this is the book for you. The concept is fascinating and the writing is immersive. My favorite read of 2021 so far.Hades and Persephone are both complex but still likeable characters with dark thoughts, feelings and impulses without being either annoying or frustrating. I am definitely going to keep coming back to reread this more than once.
The story is fascinating and hot, but at some point, I lost my way in the book. I found it slow in the middle, but the idea behind the story is amazing. A good retelling of Persephone and Hades
