O Altitudo offers the reader four encounters with the strange, the wondrous, and the uncanny: an urban explorer peregrinates the psychotopography of Copenhagen; a failed seeker of mysteries comes upon ‘spots of evil’ which open new vistas of reality; in the spring of 1938 an old Austrian refugee from the horrors in utero arrives in Denmark, carrying the blazing light of the past; and the final story explores the idea, expressed by
the Reverend Montague Summers, ‘that evil may attach itself to possessions’ …
