عرض الكلI’ve enjoyed the earlier Scarpetta books, but these later ones just don’t hit the same way. *Port Mortuary* felt like a slog. It’s too long and the plot slow (and sometimes confusing). The only reason I didn’t toss it across the room was because Cornwell still knows how to deliver on the forensic details. Some of the cases and backstory were intriguing, but the characters are starting to wear thin. They spend so much time being snarky, hiding things, and getting on each other's nerves that, by the end, they were getting on *my* nerves too. While this book may have continued the story, it mostly just deepened my disappointment. That said, I’ll probably pick up the next one in the series anyway.
