الوصف

In a striking exploration of power dynamics, Naomi Alderman envisions a world turned upside down, where women wield the reins of authority, and men find themselves in subservient roles. The story unfolds in a society that challenges traditional gender norms, compelling readers to reconsider the implications of dominance and submission.

Silvia Bre contributes her unique voice to this narrative, blending sharp social commentary with compelling character arcs. As the plot thickens, the relationships between the characters reveal the complexities of control, loyalty, and rebellion.

Amidst the tensions created by this role reversal, the authors delve deep into the psychological impact on both men and women, offering a thought-provoking reflection on societal structures and human behavior. The novel invites readers to ponder the fine line between empowerment and oppression in a provocatively reimagined world.

Qué decepción. Lo hubiera dejado pero le tenía fe, no me aportó nada. Muy confuso, no me involucre con ningún personaje, me interesaba 0 la parte política.

SpoilerI re-listened to the audiobook recently, after first finishing the book last year. It still packs a punch. It's an uncomfortable read/listen but done well - what if women had a means of defending themselves that men don't (bar a very small number). It portrays a world where women take on the aggressive gender role assigned to men, abuse and relish in it. It explores the struggle between men and women to stay "on top".I think the people who think feminism is about man-hating would be terrified of this book. To me, it was an enjoyable fiction because I *know* feminism is about equality and fairness, not harming others. It may be seen as a feminist novel, but I disagree because the characters are all cis - on one hand it's a pity there aren't LGBT characters but there are many aggressive acts portrayed so I'm glad in a way that hasn't been explored.
