Keira gave up on love and romance years ago when an abusive boyfriend took control of her life. She’s since learned to live in the moment without fear of anyone’s judgement. Trick has wanted to be part of this Soul Shifters business from the beginning. He grew jealous of the cool abilities his friends discovered when they met their soulmate. He wanted a super power, too, until the warehouse collapse left him paralyzed. Now, the class clown has lost his way to crippling hopelessness and depression. The others are convinced that Trick has a role in this and Sadie attempts to set him up on a blind date. He goes into the date with every intention of sabotaging it, but he’s met his match with Keira. She refuses to indulge his self-pity and before long, Trick is laughing with her in spite of himself. The two form a tight bond, but neither know if they’re connected to the Soul Shifters.
