خلال رحلة برفقة العالِمة المَرموقة كاثرين سولومون- الّتي دُعيت لإلقاء محاضرة في براغ- يجد روبرت لانغدون نفسه في دوّامةٍ تخرج عن السيطرة؛ حين تختفي كاثرين من غرفتهما في الفندق من دون أثر. بعيدًا عن وطنه، وخارج محيطه المُعتاد، يُضطر لانغدون إلى مواجهة قوًى مَجهولة لاستعادة المرأة التي يُحبّها.
لكنّ براغ مدينة موغلة في القِدَم، تزخر بالأساطير ويكتنفها الغموض. فعلى مدى ألفَي عام، تقاذفتها أمواج التاريخ، فتركت في حجارتها صدى ما مضى من أحداث وتقلّبات. ولم يكن لانغدون يُدرك أنّ طيفًا من ماضي المدينة المُظلم يُراقبه من كثب. غير أنّه يجد نفسه مُرغَمًا على الاستعانة بكلّ ما في جعبته من مَعارف غامِضة لفكّ رموز ذلك العالم من حوله، قبل أن تبتلعه هو الآخر دوّامات الخداع والخيانة التي ابتلعت كاثرين.
هكذا، يجد لانغدون نفسه في مدينة سرّيّة تختبئ في وضح النهار، مدينةٍ احتفظت بأسرارها قرونًا طويلة، ولن تُفصِح عنها بسهولة.
إنّها ساحة مَعركة لم يشهد لها مثيلًا من قبل، سيتحتّم عليه فيها أن يُقاتل؛ ليس من أجل حياته فحسب، بل من أجل مستقبل البشريّة نفسها.

OH MY GOD what did I just read
It's amazing the plot twist is absolutely everything
This book is like any other book by Dan Brown, it's fabolous, it have a lot of information that will make your brain look at the world in a different way, the intensity of this book is in the highest level, the twist is so shocking and the ending is so satisfying.
Everything is responsible and well written I absolutely loved everything about this book.
PLEASE if you (at any point) felt like you want to DNF it, just take a rest from it and go back because it's crime to not read this twist.
I don't know if Dan Brown books have gotten worse or I've just outgrown them as a reader, but this was a struggle to get through. I found Langdon, Solomon, and the plot of Solomon's book to be the least interesting parts of the book. In fact I found all the talk about noetics and non-local consciousness to be tedious and deeply uninteresting, I ended up skim reading most of it. I also think the book had no business being over 600 pages long. It would have been greatly improved by being a couple hundred pages shorter. Sasha, The Golem, and Heidi were the most interesting storylines and the only reason I finished this book, and are the reason for the three stars, alongside the frequent mentions of Prague's history and culture.
