Given the human proclivity for violence and mayhem, interstellar civilization had quarantined Earth long ago. For the non-violent Ahimsa, however, the need for disposable warriors was too great to ignore—and who better to fight a war than barbaric American, Russian, and Israeli military and spec-ops personnel who could easily be disposed of after they finished wrecking the crab-like Pashti’s world. To everyone’s horror, coming to observe the fighting is the most powerful alien of all: Chee’ee’la—a great crystalline being who can think stars out of existence. Even when he’s hooked up to play old Waylon Jennings songs! But as the Ahimsa discover, taking a ship-load of bellicose humans aboard is one thing. Controlling them? That is something else. And, as the humans soon learn, there are times when leaving the seeds of destruction behind you is just plain impossible.
