The stunning true story of Captain Marcus Aurelius Arnheiter, commander of the U.S.S. Vance, who for 99 days on duty off the coast of Vietnam methodically drove his men to the brink of madness.
He purchased a speedboat with the crew's recreational funds, installed a machine gun, painted the bow with shark's teeth and sent it out to draw Viet Cong fire. He filed false position reports, wrote fictional press releases , enforced discipline with a martinet's fetish for shined belt buckles, made his officers recommend him for a Silver Star and then contested his dismissal counter charging that he was the victim of an ingenious mutiny.
Ninety-nine days aboard the U.S.S. Vance - a saga of mutiny and madness at sea.
