الوصف

Guile stands at the pinnacle of power as the Prism, a title that grants him immense influence and responsibility in a world marked by color-based magic. His ability to manipulate light into physical forces makes him both a revered figure and a target for those who would seek to challenge or subvert his authority. Yet, behind the grandeur and strength lies a deeply conflicted man, grappling with the heavy burden of his role and the secrets he harbors.

Amidst the backdrop of an intricate society divided by hues, Guile’s leadership is threatened by political turmoil and personal vendettas. As honed rivalries awaken and power struggles intensify, Guile finds himself navigating treacherous waters filled with deception and ambition. His past choices come back to haunt him, revealing a complex web of entangled fates and relationships that could alter the course of history.

The stakes rise as a powerful enemy emerges from the shadows, challenging Guile's very foundation of belief and resolve. As he seeks to protect the realm and the people he loves, Guile is pushed to the limits of his abilities. Torn between duty, loyalty, and the quest for the truth, he must confront not only external adversaries but also the demons within himself.

In this richly crafted tale of magic, betrayal, and redemption, the line between friend and foe blurs, and the journey toward self-discovery becomes as perilous as the battles fought in earnest. The journey illustrates a world where the interplay of light and darkness reflects the complexities of human nature and the power of choice in shaping destiny.

The hype is so high for this series - I expected it to be brilliant. I'm left disappointed after reading the first book.Pros:- Magic system is very unique and interesting- Short chapters - that make the saying "one more chapter" very easy to abuseCons:- Characters - frustrating is the overall impression. -- Kip - I liked the least - this is probably the most stupid, bi-polar character I've encountered in a fantasy series. He just cannot get over himself, and his infatuations, and his bodyweight; then to go in the next sentence to do something smart and completely out of character (as per what the author wants us to think of him). I got whiplash after whiplash. He's sometimes described very contradictory to what he actually does - as in smart, when he's the definition of stupid.-- Aliviana - what the hell was that at the end? I did not feel brainwashed by that "Lord", not in the slightest. Why? Don't tell me she'll be double-crossing him, I see that as highly improbable, considering her character so far.- Inconsistencies - there are a lot of them in this book. - Bad editing (ex. why was it important for the plot to have the description of Karis' period - was it leading somewhere? why have that much extra, unimportant, not interesting "stuff" in the book?)I wonder if the things I actually liked about this story lead somewhere in the other books, or if they were just there to be able to say - Yea, I did that - and be done with it.I was looking forward to immerse myself in a great series, especially given the premise, but I'm no longer sure I want to.
