الوصف

Now available as a special edition eBook:

New Bonus Chapter and Reading Group Guide, including Stephenie Meyer's Annotated Playlist for the book with linking to and back from text.

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, didn't expect to find its former tenant refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

As Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of Jared, a human who still lives in hiding, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she's never met. Reluctant allies, Wanderer and Melanie set off to search for the man they both love.

Featuring one of the most unusual love triangles in literature, THE HOST
is a riveting and unforgettable novel about the persistence of love and the essence of what it means to be human.

One of my all time favourite books and as someone who doesn't normally like audio books I am very pleased to say Kate Reading does a great job as narrator

After not liking Twilight that much,I have always been in doubt about reading The Host .However, I downloaded the audiobook on a whim, and started listening to it.I struggled through first chapters, but to my surprise I loved the rest of the book. I am so happy that I finally gave this a chance. Because unlike Bella, Wanda is so sweet and adorable.

I read this a few years ago and gave it four stars. Four stars? How did that happen? I tried reading it again and got 60 pages into it before giving up. If I hadn't read it already I would have continued, but since I already knew the story I didn't feel like putting up with it. How was I not bored to death of this before? There were a few times I thought, "Just ten more pages. Ten more. I can do that, right?" This would be followed by me shutting the book after four more pages. The storyline is decent. Nothing unique, but still enjoyable. And Wanda and Ian get really cute towards the end. But is it worth it? Hecks no! Sure, it's better than Twilight, but then, what isn't? (A little book called [b:Once in a Full Moon|8428056|Once in a Full Moon (Full Moon, #1)|Ellen Schreiber|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1327895088s/8428056.jpg|13291257], that what.)Honestly, most of the book is the characters wandering around. Which I guess makes sense, since the main character is called Wanderer. However, this does not make for an interesting read. I don't want to wait 60 pages for something good to happen. It's not worth it. Not even a little. The movie, sure. That was much more fast paced and exciting. It wasn't a long, drawn out 600 pages. But no one should waste their time on this book.
