This Folio Society edition of The Nude follows the text of the 1990 Princeton/Bollington edition with minor emendations. The Nude was first published by John Murray in 1956 and was based upon the 1953 A.W. Mellon Lectures in Fine Art delivered at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.
