One of my favorite Lovecraft's tales! Not a story that can make you shudder in fear maybe, but one that leaves you on edge with anticipation and curiosity. The plot itself flirts with the remnants of Ewald Hering's discredited biological theory of organic memory. At the same time, it explores all the crazy possibilities of resurrections and transmutation of souls.
