Whirlwind

14 year old Luana Scott's life in South Bend has been full of ups and downs.
Her father, cold and heartless to her, has split up with her mother and intends to take Kevin, her beloved younger brother, with him. Luana can't imagine a life without him even with her caring friends who she knows will help her on her journey to high school. Kevin is too young to realize what is happening and neither of her parents have told him the truth about their quickly fading relationship.
But when Luana's father leaves the family suddenly with no warning, Mama, Luana and Kevin must go search for him which leads to the revealing of secrets about her family she could barely comprehend.
On top of her father, high school and the drama inside and outside of her house, a massive storm with a deadly tornado threatens the lives and homes of everyone she cares about including a young girl named Ruth and a mother and daughter that will lead her back to her family and back to everything that she cares about.
