Mhurder's story confused me but then it all made sense.Darius' story was great, i just loved how you get to know him a bit more, and how close he is to tohr.is it just me or is John, Darius reincarnate? He can't be just his son.... that's my speculation. i just wish these flashbacks and "fits" john keeps having, gets explained soon.
My favourite out of all of them so far. However, there are so many characters now that I am beginning to forget who is who.
In the eighth book of the BDB series, we are introduced to the story of John and xhex, and we also have the development of other characters like Blay, Qhuinn, and Payne. I didn't like the book at first. She was still a little annoyed with John because of the things that had happened in the previous book and she couldn't bear to hear about Qhuinn. My little anger at John is gone, but Qhuinn's is still going on and I don't think it's going to get any better, because Blay is my protégé. I really thought that Xhex's rescue would happen soon, but for me, it took longer than it should, the story only started to get better when she managed to get out. Xhex stole the show in the book. Everything around her was simply mesmerizing. She was the best-developed protagonist so far. Xhex is wonderful and has a very sad history, so she deserves the best. Not to mention that the main plot of the book revolved around her. The plot, oh my god. What plot was that?! I wasn't expecting those revelations, and I'm excited to see how it plays out. As I said earlier, my anger at John has passed. He's still not one of my favourite characters, far from it, by the way, but let's say he's in a neutral zone. I found his moments with Xhex to be cute, and I liked that he finally got Tohr's side, because that was one of the issues I was most angry at with him. So I'm still glad it happened. It was a good book. It wasn't my favourite, but I think it added a lot to the story and left a lot of loose ends. This series is worth reading, even though it is quite long, BDB is completely addictive.
