Checking In

Dalton Walker, born and bred New Yorker, is not happy to find himself in Texas. But when his last investment crashed and burned, before he was kicked out of the hedge fund he helped start, he’d asked his assistant to book him a place where he could de-stress for a few days. He realizes, as the pickup truck bumps over dusty roads, wrecking his $3000 suit, that he should have been more specific, and said words like “Caribbean” and “spa” and “not Texas”. But since his professional life is in shambles, at least he can have a few days to try and put his life back together. And here, he can do it without any distractions…

Chessie St. Clair has been at the Ranch for two years – she takes care of the horses, makes sure the tourists don’t kill themselves when she takes them on trail rides, and looks after the barn cats and ranch dogs.
