Dead in Starlight Ridge

Welcome to Paradise. Try not to get killed.

When Maddie and Benji meet their grown children for a family vacation in the idyllic coastal town of Starlight Ridge, everything seems picture-perfect—sunny beaches, ocean breezes, and even a charming seaside bakery run by two elderly sisters.

Until a body washes up on shore. Suddenly Maddie’s well-earned crime-free streak is over, and Jo and Dottie, the bakery sisters, think they should be the ones helping the sheriff solve the case. Maddie knows they mean well, but her family is more capable, not to mention, objective, and it isn’t long before a good-natured rivalry turns into a full-blown competition to see who can catch the killer first.

But when Maddie’s interference causes the sheriff’s suspicion to land on Maddie’s son, Flash, the competition turns into a desperate race against time. To prove his innocence, Maddie must uncover the real killer hiding among Starlight Ridge’s residents—before her family reunion becomes a farewell.

Dead in Starlight Ridge is the ninth, and final, book of the Maddie Swallow series. If you like small towns, humor, and murder, you’ll love this cozy mystery.
