Even though it’s only the second book in the Sparrow Falls series, it’s quickly becoming one of my favorites.The writing is incredibly well done—the small-town atmosphere feels immersive, the characters are deeply layered, and the themes of finding yourself and building the life you deserve are woven in so naturally. I especially loved Shep and Thea’s story. Thea is such a complex, beautifully written character, and watching her come into her own alongside the family and friendships she finds in Sparrow Falls was truly moving. Her fears feel real, and her pain reflects experiences so many people carry.The care Catherine Cowles puts into her characters is evident on every page.
