Each of the three writers is deeply concerned about Christian Perfection, though they come from very different backgrounds. Fenelon was a coutier at Versailles, and later Archbishop. John Wesley was a scholarly Oxford man and one of the great evangelists of the Methodist Church. Evelyn Underhill was a writer from the Anglican Church.
