Dolphins on the Sand

Dolphins are sleek, agile masters of the ocean. But on occasion a pod will find itself beached on the sand, and it is up to a devoted group of people to rescue them. Based on a true-life dolphin rescue that Jim Arnosky witnessed, luminous illustrations and gentle text tell the story of comforting the distressed animals, protecting them from predators, and sheltering them until they are strong enough to return to the sea.

A lifelong naturalist and the author and illustrator of more than 150 books for children, Jim Arnosky’s work on Dolphins on the Sand shines as some of his best—stunningly vibrant, and heartfelt as always.
