I'm waffling between giving this book 4 or 4 1/2 ★s; the book is a quiet, sweet and easy read. There is romance, a little suspense and lots of small town gossip. BUT I found it weird that it took 8 chapters before the hero and heroine even met. Hank Cooper is the consummate wanderer, he travels with his home and toys wherever he goes. Cooper comes to Thunder Point Oregon to find out what happened to his army buddy Ben. Thunder Point and Ben's property draw Cooper in, most the locals are nice and friendly ... but Cooper knows he's only here until he settles Ben's estate. Sarah Dupre is a woman once burned forever shy. She's strong; she's had to be raising her not so little brother Landon, after their parents died. And she's a Coast Guard rescue pilot. Sarah wants the romance with no long term commitment. Cooper realizes that he may have finally found someone to make him sink some roots. I have read several of Robyn Carr's Virgin River series which I have enjoyed and in my opinion Robyn Carr's writing style has improved with every book. I think this series hits the right note in the small town romance genre.
