Beschreibung
As the story unfolds, readers are invited to explore the depths of Cruella's ambition and the moments that shaped her into the instigator of chaos she is known to be. Valentino masterfully reveals the emotional turmoil and societal pressures that drive Cruella to the brink, making her not just a villain, but a tragic figure caught in a web of her own making.
With a blend of charm and menace, Cruella navigates a world that oscillates between admiration and disdain. As her journey unfolds, she confronts not only external adversaries but also the shadows of her past. This haunting narrative captures the essence of a character who, despite her flaws, is unable to escape the fate that has been woven for her. Readers will find themselves drawn into a world where style clashes with inner demons and the line between cruelty and vulnerability becomes increasingly blurred.
Ultimately, the tale serves as a poignant reflection on the nature of villainy, destiny, and the struggle for acceptance. Valentino’s portrayal invites readers to reconsider the characterization of one of Disney’s most iconic antagonists, prompting a deeper understanding that may linger long after the last page is turned.

Is Cruella really that Evil Thing everybody remembers from the puppy-coat scandal? In this book, Serena Valentino helps us understand a little better what caused Cruella to do the things she did. We have Cruella's side of the story, narrated by her, which is a great change taking in consideration the previous books. There isn't any link between the fist 6 books and this one, but there are a couple of references. There is no need to read the first 6 to understand the 7th, so that's a win. I did enjoy the backstory, how money and family can affect the way you think, the way you act. It's good to learn more about Cruella's past. It makes me feel sorry for her. I do understand better what happens to her, tough I don't agree with her choices. There were some minor typos which distracted me from the main plot but over all another well written story by Serena Valentino. Totally recommend.
