As you read the stories in Fantastic Feats, it's important to remember that they are true. They describe some of the wonderful abilities of real animals, many of them just like the ones who share our lives. Perhaps even the people who loved them never really knew how extraordinary they were until an unexpected event allowed their animals to show what they could do.
Normally we take some pride in teaching our animal friends to do things our way--sit, stay, speak, lie down, fetch, shake hands, etc.--and they learn quickly because they want to please us.
