Business is good in the City of Angels, but soon Chloe gets a message from the Court of Feathers, warning her of a Dark Master who is building up its power in the region. Whatever it is, it brings death and carnage with it.

Audiobook listen. I enjoyed this story! It was a nice continuation into the lives of hunters before the Owen Pitt era. It was nice to hear some easter eggs for longtime fans of the series. I did have some issues with the narrator, mostly because of her choice of accents and how she would pronounce Kazador as "Kathador" occasionally, but then have it read the normal way in other parts. I thought that was a bit odd. But other than that, it was totally fine.I do wish that audiobooks engineers would think to use both a male and female narrator to ready their respective parts instead of having either male or female struggle to do either. It wasn't bad really, but I just thought that some male voice, especially the deeper ones, could have been done better by a male narrator. Not saying it wasn't done well, I'm definitely not saying she ruined the book like some other negative reviewers have stated.
