Indian Shadow

If genres suddenly coalesced, Indian Shadow would be the point of convergence. It is science fiction and fantasy, magical reality and psychological novel, with western and social satire, all conspiring in a magical transition of consciousness from the beginning stage through the evolution into the abstract. It is a sly construction of a foundational story in Western culture, extended into a rapidly approaching future where organic systems and DNA computers converge.

The thread that weaves through the fabric of this work is an abstract humor derived from Indian Shadow’s Creek Indian heritage. Dan Lee has combined his background in American cultural and intellectual history, magazine journalism, and Ericksonian hypnosis to create a work of fiction filled with psychological humor and a vision of the future in which a person can also be a powerful corporation, a future in which it is hard to tell the difference.

Lee’s vision, as a hypnotherapist, was the creation of a page turning novel, built over a series of teaching stories, while engaging an abstract sense of humor. Everything has layers of meaning, as in a dream. The images are champagne and dark chocolate to the playful psyche.
