Irish Roots in County Down: Stories of Family & Place

Irish Roots in County Down is a collection of twenty-two narratives written by family historians from Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand who are dedicated to researching and preserving their Irish heritage. The authors pay homage to their ancestry by sharing their personal research experiences and telling their stories of discovery about the people and places of County Down and beyond. Featuring families from throughout the county, Irish Roots in County Down is a valuable resource and a priceless legacy for both present and future generations of historians. This book is published as a tribute to the memory of Fiona Doyle Jones (1964-2012) and Sheila Phillips (1951-2012), two individuals who have provided exceptional support and encouragement to so many others researching their Irish heritage in County Down.
