Women and children first, and single fathers be hanged! So thought special education teacher Jamie Carr. For kids, she had a heartful of love to give, but she'd had a fill of adult-male takers.

Yet with a handicapped nephew as his new "son," bachelor father Mitch Bishop faced utter confusion and relentless anguish.
